Wendy’s is proud to sponsor the 42nd annual Southeastern Washington Cavalcade of Bands! This marching band show in Kennewick, Washington on October 5th, is a long-time band tradition that Wendy’s has teamed up with. The We Love Band program, launched last year, was proven successful in supporting high school marching bands of Spokane County, and now, this program is expanding to include other parts of the Pacific Northwest including Central Washington.
As the sponsor of Cavalcade, Wendy’s provides monetary support as well as advertising for the event. The talented musicians in attendance will also be gifted with a custom swag item and band directors will each receive a bag full of these custom items. Swag items include coupons, as well as band camp essentials like hats and water bottles.
The We Love Band initiative aims to support musicians and give them recognition, while alleviating financial difficulties for band programs. The concept is heavily inspired by Dave Thomas’s value: Give Something Back. Wenspok, the Spokane headquartered franchisee, aims to uphold this value in their stores and community events, such as Cavalcade. The new program was founded by Tannor Glumbik, President’s EA & Marketing Manager. Tannor is a former high school marching band musician. During the summer, Wendy’s showed their support for high school marching bands by hosting sponsor nights and delivering swag and Frostys during practices for Spokane County high schools. Wendy’s is ecstatic to grow We Love Band to honor community tradition. The 42nd Annual Cavalcade of Bands takes place on Saturday, October 5th at Kennewick High School. Last Saturday, October 5th, the Southeastern Washington Cavalcade of Bands presented by Wendy's kicked off the marching band competition season in Eastern Washington drawing competing bands from Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. Wendy's was elated to bring our budding We Love Band program to Cavalcade of Bands this year. During Prelims, the Wendy's Team made their way through the bands camped out around Kennewick High School to pass out the fan favorite We Love Band bucket hat which in 2024 features Frosty playing the sousaphone! Without a doubt, students – parents and staff too!– were in love with this adorable Wendy's merch designed specifically for band. While Wendy's food was not served at the competition, spectators were able to spin the Wendy's prize wheel for the chance to win free coupons to redeem for menu items such as the iconic Dave's Single or our morning favorite Homestyle French Toast Sticks. To wrap up the day's collaboration between Cavalcade of Bands and Wendy's, the Frosty Mascot made a special appearance during Finals Award Ceremony to present the 1st place award to Ridgeline High School for their outstanding musical and marching performance.
